Rescue and handover
Someone built it, then stopped answering. This is getting it back under your control.
What it is
It happens often enough here to be a service: a site nobody has the password to, a developer who left the country, a plugin that broke and took the checkout with it.
I take stock of what exists, tell you plainly whether it is worth keeping, and either fix it or move it somewhere you own. You get the accounts, the code and the backups at the end either way.
- How long it takes
- Audit in three days; the work depends on what the audit finds

What is included
- An audit: what it runs on, what is broken, what it costs
- Recovery of domains, hosting and repository access where possible
- Either a fix, or a migration to hosting in your name
- A written handover with every credential
What is not
- Recovering data that was never backed up
- Legal action against a previous developer
How it works
Tell me what you know
The address, who built it, what you can still log in to. Gaps are normal; that is what the audit is for.
An audit in three days
What it runs on, what is broken, what it costs and whether it is worth keeping, in writing.
Fix it or move it
Quoted once the audit is done: repairs where it is, or a move to hosting in your name.
The handover
Every account, the code and the backups, with a written handover of each credential.
Who it suits
- A business whose site was built by someone who no longer answers
- Anyone paying for hosting, a domain or a plugin they cannot log in to
- A site that still works, but that nobody dares to touch
