NestJS authentication API template: live demo

An API has no screens to click through, so this demo shows the two things a developer checks before buying one: the reference for every route, generated from the code, and a recording of the API at work. Both come from the same code a buyer receives.

The people, addresses and tokens in the recording are made up for the demo. Nobody real signs up, and no email leaves the machine it ran on.

Things to try

The API reference of the NestJS auth API on a desktop screen, in light mode
  • Open the reference and follow one route from start to finish: what it takes, what it answers, and the errors it can return.
  • Switch to the walkthrough: a minute of signing up, verifying the address, logging in and refreshing the session.
  • Watch an old refresh token being replayed. The whole session ends, and the newest access token stops working with it.
  • Look at the error codes: every refusal carries one a front end can read, so it can say exactly what went wrong.

When it is yours

In your copy the same API runs against your own MySQL, started from a Docker Compose file, sends real emails through your mail server, and rebuilds this reference from the code with one command whenever a route changes.
