A few words

Five years of late nights, cardboard models and far too much coffee in Hamra. Tala is graduating, and her family would love to celebrate with everyone who fed her, drove her and listened to her talk about load-bearing walls.

Photos

  • A hand drawing a plan with dividers, under a desk lamp
  • A white card model of a house on a pale blue base
  • A small cup of coffee held over a sketchbook, late at night
  • Old stone stairs between houses and trees in Beirut
  • A graduation gown, and a cap with a gold tassel, by the sea
  • A table laid on a terrace at dusk, the hills beyond
